What we take off your desk

Defined packages for the work that piles up before a deadline. Each one is issued as PDF drawings or a sizing schedule plus a calculation note, under written terms, with a stated turnaround.

Revit MEP modelling

Mechanical, electrical and public health models from your architectural model, DWGs or PDFs, to LOD 200–350, with sheets, sections and schedules where asked.

Single dwelling from 5 working days; one commercial floor from 10

Ductwork and pipework sizing

Darcy–Weisbach and Colebrook–White, not chart readings. Sizes snapped to DW144 rectangular and BS EN 1506 round, velocities to CIBSE Guide B and BS 8233, index run and fan or pump duty.

Ten runs in 3 days; a floor in 5; a building in 7

Ventilation design to Approved Document F

Extract and whole-building rates, system selection, duct routes marked on your plans, terminal and fan schedule. Small commercial and residential.

Dwelling in 3 to 5 days; small commercial in 7

Plant room and riser layouts

Equipment set out to maintenance clearances, pipe and duct routes coordinated, access checked, with a schedule of what sits where.

From 5 working days

Design review and checking

An independent second pair of eyes on a consultant's or contractor's design before it goes to tender or site: calculations re-run, drawings cross-referenced, findings in a short report.

From 3 working days

Electrical small works and calculation tools

Load assessment, distribution and lighting design for small commercial projects, and calculation tools or spreadsheets built to your office method.

Who does the work

One engineer, no hand-offs. You deal with the person who models, calculates and checks the package.

  • Senior Building Services Design Engineer, UK residential and commercial
  • MSc Renewable Energy Engineering
  • Member of CIBSE; working towards CEng with the IMechE
  • Revit MEP, AutoCAD, own calculation tools
  • Professional indemnity insurance: £[1m], [insurer]

I'm Saad [surname], a London-based building services design engineer. Most of my work is HVAC design in Revit on UK residential and commercial projects: ductwork and pipework, ventilation, plant rooms and the coordination that makes them buildable.

Before building services I worked in process engineering in shipbuilding and automotive manufacturing. That is where the habit of checking every calculation a second way comes from, and it is why every package leaves with a calculation note a checker can follow line by line.

First Pass MEP takes overflow work from consultancies and contractors who need a defined package delivered to a date, without adding headcount.
